As a general education turned special education teacher, I have seen hands on activities help all levels of learners. I'm about to share with you a true labor of love...my Phonics Centers for the Year Bundle! This bundle includes 35 WEEKS WORTH OF KINDERGARTEN PHONICS CENTERS! That's right, 35 weeks! That is enough centers to last you an entire school year. I worked so hard to create fun and engaging activities that cover a variety of key kindergarten phonics skills. Alphabet Letter Formation Mats (not pictured): Practice letter formation and letter sounds in a variety of ways, either with play-doh or markers
Sunny Day Sandboxes: Spin the spinner and then form that letter in the sand. You can build your own sandboxes by filling hard pencil cases with sand.
Letter Formation Boards: Practice writing the letters with dry erase markers and building them with play-doh

Mama Mia Pizzeria: Build slices of pizza by finding the crust, sauce and cheese with the matching letters
Swat the Letter: Pull a letter card and then use a fly swatter to swat the matching fly
Pencil Puzzles: Build pencils by matching the uppercase and lowercase letter
Lock and Key: Find all of the keys that belong to the lock (by matching letters) and place them in the bag
Rack them Up (not pictured): A fun group game where students pick cards and name the letter, they get to keep the card as long as they don't have to "Rake Them Up!"
Bubblegum Sort: Put gum balls into gum ball machines by sorting consonants and vowels

Build that House: Build a house by finding the door and roof with the correct beginning sound
Mix them Up: A fun group game where students pick a card and produce the correct letter sound. They get to keep the cards as long as they don't have to "Mix Them Up"
Beginning Sound Clip Cards: After looking at the picture in the middle, use a clothespin to clip the correct beginning sound
Sunny Day Letter Sounds Puzzle: Build a sun by matching the letter with the picture
Beginning Sound Dry Erase Boards: Find the correct beginning sound to complete each word. Circle the letter with a dry erase marker. For added fun, complete the word by using a magnetic letter or play-doh
Ending Sound Dry Erase Boards: Find the correct ending sound to complete each word. Circle the letter with a dry erase marker. For added fun, complete the word by using a magnetic letter or play-doh

Short Vowel Dry Erase Boards: Find the correct vowel sound to complete each word. Circle the letter with a dry erase marker. For added fun, complete the word by using a magnetic letter or play-doh
Vowel Caterpillars (not pictured): Build a caterpillar by finding the body pieces (with pictures) that belong to the correct letter
Build a Sandwich: Sort sandwich ingredients onto plates based on their long vowel sounds
Long and Short Vowel Sort: Place leaves with the correct tree by sorting the long vowels onto one and short vowels onto another

CVC Sentences: Pick a CVC card and then use that word to write a sentence
Word Builder: Pick a CVC picture card and use letter cards to build that word
Shovel Them Up (not pictured): A fun group game where students pick cards and read the CVC word, they get to keep the card as long as they don't have to "Shovel Them Up!"
CVC Puzzles: Complete the puzzle by matching the picture with the CVC word

Peanut Butter Jelly Rhyme Time: Build peanut butter jelly sandwiches by finding the peanut butter and jelly pieces with rhyming picture words
Sweet Treats: Build cupcakes by matching the bottom and the top with rhyming words
Rhyming Puzzles (not pictured): Students match two puzzle pieces by finding rhyming pictures
Word Family Puzzles: Build 3 piece puzzles by matching two pictures of the same word family with the correct word family letters
Build a Butterfly: Put the butterfly wings on the butterfly by finding the pictures that belong to the same word family

Popsicle Puzzles: Build popsicle puzzles by finding the beginning blend for each word
Blend Sandboxes: Pull a picture card and figure out the beginning blend. Form  the blend (or the word) in the sand.
Dig Them Up (not pictured): A fun group game where students pick cards and name the beginning blend, they get to keep the card as long as they don't have to "Dig Them Up!"
Dinosaur Digraphs (not pictured): Place the dinosaur eggs under the correct try by sorting them by beginning digraphs
Digraph Dry Erase Boards: Find the correct digraph to complete each word. Circle the digraph with a dry erase marker. For added fun, complete the word by using a magnetic letter or play-doh. Beginning and ending digraphs included
CVCE Dry Erase Boards: Find the correct vowel sound to complete each CVCE word. Circle the letter with a dry erase marker. For added fun, complete the word by using a magnetic letter or play-doh
Poof! Magic E Cards (not pictured): A fun group game where students pick cards and name the vowel in each CVCE word, they get to keep the card as long as they don't pull a "Poof!" card!

Alphabetical Order Task Cards: Pick a card and place the 3 words in ABC order on the recording sheet.
Nouns Sort: Sort pictures or words by person, place, animal or thing
Building Sentences Spring Edition: Pick a mini envelope and sort the words in order to build a sentence. Record your sentence on your recording sheet
Building Sentences Summer Edition: Pick a mini envelope and sort the words in order to build a sentence. Record your sentence on your recording sheet

Compound Word Boards: Pick a compound word board and look at the final word, use the picture cards to build that compound word Ex: snow + man= snowman
Lemonade Stand Synonyms: Match the whole lemon with the lemon slice by finding the picture that represents the synonyms
Ketchup and Mustard Antonyms: Match the mustard slice with the ketchup slice by finding the antonyms
Swat the Syllables: Pick a picture and swat the number that represents the amount of syllables in the word


You can use these centers in a million different ways. With so many centers at your fingertips, the possibilities are endless. However, I've used my experience as a kindergarten teacher to outline how I've used these centers. I've created a pacing guide that you can refer to throughout the year. This will make planning a breeze!
